actually even im kinda confused regarding this topic ..   :-\
the thing is i saw this rule noted in my text book while referring it ..

If this is about negative scale factors, this is one of the things I have to do on my website. A lot has gone wrong in last few days. I had to recover a hard disk with the vital data.

Could someone be kindly to explain to me the upper bounds and lower bounds in detail? Im kinda am confused about them, but if you have notes about them then feel free to pass them on to your fellow SF mate.

ALWAYS remember ..

for addition and multiplication ..

LB = LB + LB

LB = LB x LB

UB = UB + UB

UB = UB x UB

for subtraction or division .. (is different)
LB = LB - UB

LB = LB/UB

UB = UB - LB

UB = UB/LB  :)

consider solving some sums u'll get them  :).. these kinda ques usually appear in paper 2 .. (jus solved a couple of them few mins ago)

I don't understand how you find the invariant line.

Another transformation question

3(a)(iv)[2005 June Paper 4(Igcse)]

How do you find the invariant line for the shear?

I actually have this doubt with stretch and shear(finding invariant line), when the image and object share no points.

About invariant lines .. for stretch, the transformation takes place perpendicular to the invariant line .. ;)

is it,
(x-3)/4 = 4/(x-3)
then,
=> (x-3)(x-3) = 4*4
=> x2 -6x +9 = 16
=> x2 -6x -7 = 0
=> (x+1)(x-7) = 0
=> x = -1 , x = 7
AAL IZZ WELL!!! ;)
