a+(n-1)d + 0.5(n-1)(n-2)c

a = first no.

d = difference

c = final difference

n = nth term

Wow, thats the same thing that my teacher told me as well, actually, she referred to the last question as an Out Of Syllabus question.

By the way how many of you did variant 2?? I did variant 2 and the last question was a bit tough but still easier than the stuff they're giving these days. I mean the sequences in MJ09 or Oct09 are insolvable. Unless of course you're Einstein's son...

of course it can be solved..i gave the on 2009 paper and i cud solve it, and so could all of my friends..

u hav to subtract the sequences of the previous 2 rows..thats it..

Like I said, you'll have to be related to Einstein to solve them ;D...
