Q21
Its about finding the equation of a straight line which is always y=mx+c
First find the gradient
Using 1,-2 and 4,3
y2-y1/ x2-x1
m= 3-(-2)/4-1
m =3+2/3
m=5/3
Then, substitue m=5/3 in the equation y=mx+c
y=mx+c (using 1,-2)
-2 = 5/3 X 1 + c
-2 = 5/3 + c
c = 11/3
Then, substitute m and c in y = mx+c
so the equation of the line is y=5/3x + 11/3
(By the way i hope this is the question you were after:P)

hi i am having a problem in maths may june paper 2 2007
q. 12 pg.11
part (b)
South Wesern Bank advertises savings with compund intrest at 4.9% per year. Kalid brother invests his money in this baml.At the end of 3 years, how much more money will he have than Kalid?
its urgent actually as i do not have much time for my next exam of maths...thx

THIS IS THE ANSWER FOR JUN 2006 q13
CROSS MULTIPLICATION U GET 3(X-2)=4(2X+5)
3X-6=8X+20
3X=8X+26
-5X=26
-X=5.2
X=-5.2

ZUBAIR_M U MEAN QUESTION 22 )b)
A)2000*3*(5/100)=300
300+2000=2300
B)2000(1+(4.9/100))^3 ^ IS TO THE POWER OF
2000(1.049)^3
=2368.6
2368.6-2300=8.6

use compound interest formula
A= P(1+R/100)n
= 2000(1+4.9/100)3
=2308.64
2308.64-2300= 8.64

huh im suckin at math so much rite now....nyways guys could someone tell me how to solve Q.5, Q.7 Oct/Nov 2008 P2...
IN Q.7 could somebody tell me the bounds im supposed to take?? im taking 6.15 and 8.15 but not gettin the answer according to the mark scheme??
-
ACTUALLY I MADE A TYPING MISTAKENUMBER IS 2308.6 NOT 2368.6 :(

Q.5
just imagine that you are rotating the square from the point B 90*clockwise and where will you get D?
D will be on the same line with B
so wot you have to do it take the length of DC
and with a compass, from point B, draw a quater of a circle until the point where you get D after you rotate it
Q7.
yes, the upper bounds are 6.15 and 8.15
you just multiply them
-
thank u loads....
now o/n 2008again... q.9b and 14b
-
hii guyz :)
can some1 plz help me ..
i dont kno how to solve Q 10 from M/J/08 pg 4

find the volume of the glass using the cylinder formula
it will be 1385.4
divide it by 216.u get 6.4...
take 6 as a scale factor
and multiply
3X6=18 radius
7X6=42 height/..
thats what i did:S dunno if it is right tho!!!
-
thanks piscecs:)
what about MY question:(
-
ok now i see the answer..um sorrrrry but i wanted to know part b? how do we find the co-ordinates?
-

i've solved part b too, it's under a)
so from a), we got y=2x-4
and in b) we know that y=0
so we find x
i underlined the answer in pink

everything is clear now .. thank u so much!!! :D ...
i cant believe that the exam is tomorrow .. im really worried! :-[

no probz~ and yep the exam's 2morrow! dont worry, you'll do fine
the may/june exams are usually easier than the oct/nov ones
and if you've done enough past papers then you'll totally be fine!
maths is easy~ i'm more worried about the chem exam the day after
well~ GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!
