What is figure 1.1 about ??

as far as i can comprehend ..

1.take same species of plants
2.same amount of volume of water with dye
3.Same temperature
4.start the experiment at the same time
5.cover with plastc to avoid evaporation
6.repeat the experiment

..

Here is Fig...

By the way, in the mark scheme it says ""method of measuring uptake (of dye/water), either by bubble method or lossof coloured solution/water), so what is bubbble method?

It's about dye moving up tube or something:

m/j 2006

You could say something along the lines:

- Negative geotropism - grows opposite direction to gravity.  This ensures shoots grow upwards getting the leaves into sunlight.
- Positive phototropism - grows towards the light.  This means leaves expose maximum sruface area to light.  They can therefore absorb more light more efficiently for photosynthesis.
- Mention auxin as well.
- Talk about shoots grow because cells multiply by mitosis - leading to growth.
