Assalamu Alaikum Sister Romeesa, Abod has attached very nice information on gene therapy and the difference between somatic and germ line therapy. But some words cannot be seen properly at the last words of every sentence. Anyway I try my best to read, but May Allah bless him.

Sister Romeesa, is Abod doing A/L edexcel or cambridge???  Which part has he covered and which part is he doing for his upcoming exam??? AS or A2 units?? which one??

Sister Romeesa, the information Abod has attached, where did he get all these informations??From the interent or from the school or from the textbuk?? I found them useful and understandable. Can u tel me where did he get these information,that he has attached??  I want like this point form for the rest of the unit startin from unit 1./// plsssssssssssssssssss. It is really useful for me////// pls help me sister/////////

I think he is doing AS Edexcel.

I am not sure where he got them from; Abod will answer that himself. :)

Gene therapy:
-to use the dna technology to overcome genetic diseases
-this is safe and ethically sound
-it is very recent and a highly experimental science
-one approach it to supply the missing gene to the body cells in such a way that it remains permanently fully functional

Distinguish between somatic and germ line therapy:
Somatic therapy
sometimes it is to supply the missing gene on a temporary bases and then to periodically re supply it.



Second pic:

germ line therapy
-it is not considered safe or ethical to attempt tamper with germ cell, cells which form gametes in the testes and ovaries this banned approach is called germ line therapy.

genetic screening:
the human genome project HGP maps the entire human genome it was started in 1990 and was achieved in 2000. the main objective was to discover the location of each human gene and the base sequence within the DNA structure.

Ok Abod. Abod do you have Topic 1 in Unit 1 point form notes, the notes , that you have attached to me on gene therapy// If you have, could you please share it to me.

Abod what are the subjects you are doing currently and what are the units, that you are going to sit for upcoming exam???????????????

I have finished doing all of the past papers and I guess I can do any type of question. i have my exam on 11 January I am not even feeling like I am sitting for board because now i don't even have anything to do as i finished doing all papers and finished reading bt i want to try out some more questions and there is nothing left. ppllllz can you help me?
