You have to use the trapezium rule.

Find the area of the trapezium.
\frac{1}{2}(4.6+2)*8=26.4

Then take the remaining triangle away.

\frac{1}{2}*8*2=8

Then

26.4-8=18.4

You mean when co-ordinates are given for line AB where A is (x1,y1) B is (x2,y2)
Then length of line = ?[(x1-x2)²+(y1-y2)²]
