Mostly everyone in India knows Hindi,
and even English..so, you won't have a problem if you come here. ;)

Your welcome.. Hindi is the national language i guess.. And there are many many other languages... But for speaking Hindi and English mainly..otherwise it changes according to states and people :D

yeah i heard...although the only others i know of is maybe punjab and urdu and sanskrit...
no, i only wanted to know how to say the word 'gold' in hindi, and since every indian should know hindi, then thats all i need to know
yeah, but if i talked english in india i bet every shop id go to would cheat me out of my money. especially since im such a pakka.. (im not sure if thats the word exactly)
happens a lot over here.  ::)

Sanskrit is probably not spoken officially any more like the way hindi or other languages are. Correct me because I'm not sure. But yeah, people do learn Sanskrit as a subject at school and it's the mother of all languages. Most of the languages here are based on Sanskrit, that is why some words in different languages tend to be similar. I guess few foreign languages are based on Sanskrit too.

Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada,Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Konkani, Tullu, lots more..!

Hahaha OK so you're a pakka at English huh ... cool! If you consider India as a whole , I don't think more than 0.1% are able to speak English!

hang on doesnt pakka mean like awfully american or something...cuz once ari called me a pakka or something cuz i sed soccer instead of football... oh boy, faux pas max....

LOL! OMG! I guess you should stop learning Hindi from Ari then. :P "Pakka" means sure, certain. In your case as you said, it meant you're very good at it. :P Ahaha
