It's C cause when the resistance of one decreases the current passing increases, this increases the voltage across the potential divider which has a higher resistance. do u want me to explain with some figures..it may help..let me know if u don't understand

i'll ans that using the question in year 2005

In this case since 25 is the room temp

a liquid would have a melting point less than this temp and boiling point more than this temp
a solid would have its melting point and boiling point more than this temp
a gas will have its melting and boiling point less than this temp

so in this case the ans will be B.
