It was hard for the most of the people in my school, i manage to do them after second round, but i missed out the "show" the real roots part in the last question before finding a and b, Do you remember your answer for the area in the last question..? and the circular measure part?

well. i couldnt do the circular measure part. found it difficult. as for area i dnt remember the ans.
the a and b i found but dnt remember if i ever showd the real roots or wat.
wat country are u from?

I am from Brunei, i got 2.25 for the area, and a is 1 b is 2..? my friend told me that the question ask to show that a and b are real roots of curve, which you need to substitute both equation to get the equation they provided which is x^6 something something.. i missed out that part although i did it in my mind.. the circular measure part, i got it, but i am not sure if its correct, i got 7.5 for the area of shaded region though..

oh yah i remember dng that part. it was x^6+x^3.... if m not mistaken. yes i got the values 1 and 2 but dnt remember which is which. wat ans did u get for the sketching of graph the y= 2 sin x and u were gvn the other part where u hv 2 write the eqn of straight line gvn that 2pi sinx = -ve pi x (sumthing liker that) dnt remember the qn clearly

I don't know the correct answer but i wrote 3 roots, what about you? cos it cuts at 3 place, the equation i put, y= -(1 over pie) x + 1  ...i divide everything by pie

Yeah...........am having a bad time with physics as well :(

These links may be helpful to clear some of your doubts :

Yeah......the answer was 11/12 pie ;)

Am afraid to tell you that but the answer would be 2.88 without pie.
Though your method (pie x integration of [y12 - y22]) was correct.
Initially I did it the same way you did but got a negative value as answer. So I decided to do it step by step and I finally obtained the correct answer.(according to me and my friends)

Thank you so much that was very helpful =]
good luck with everything =]
