Alpha You sow the seeds of future religious discord here.

Why havent you realized any talk of women will ultimately shift to religious debate?
WHY?

The fact is the only countries that have a negative attitude towards women are those that show extreme loyalty to the doctrine laid down by their organized religion.

It's another thing whether it's commanded by religion itself or people have hijacked to use it for their own personal gain.

Saudi Arabia , Iran, Somalia etc

Strangely i see islam in all of them
I wonder why ::)

need to lock this thread or otherwise your beloved religion will be there for the taking

Requiem, I am the mod here, and this is my and Omer's board. Let me remind you the rules: reference to religion is allowed, only well-ingrained religious discussions are not allowed.

I judge it unfair to penalise the women's issues because "it will shift to religious debate". To moderate and prevent such things from happening is my responsibility, which I did carry out, you will notice from the above posts.

I will not lock this thread, and don't you either dare delete my comment. The thread stays for discussions about women's treatment.

The rest of your post is totally irrelevant since I've already stopped all discussions about religion, and the blame game on countries. I'll pretend I didn't read your last six lines.

Women are mostly equal, or can be equal if she wishes to. Most women don't care for their rights anyway.

That Afghan girl could divorce her husband a year back and find another one.

Most women are conditioned* not to care. ;)

Heard nothing about her husband though. :-\

Ahh! Common, that's a fake sometimes.

Continuous efforts matter more than the outcome.

No. If she wanted to divorce her husband, who would stop her? Truth is, she fears, what she will do without "her husband's money" or "without male support (stupid)". :P She could even steal from her husband and flee to another place and run a shop with that.

Bottomline: Women should be more aware and press for their basic rights to be granted.

I didn't have the chance to ask her if she divorced her husband, but my logic says she must have done it. :P

Steal from her husband? You're being too filmy.  :D

Its easy to steal money from someone AND flee somewhere else, away. The hubby deserves it anyway. :P

She divorced? Then why was she staying with him anyway?

I didn't say she divorced. I said I think she did. You did not get my logic. :P
I don't know if she did. Heard news only of her nose, no news of the husband. Maybe the Talibans are protecting him.

Lah, a woman like her doesn't deserve to be called a thief.  ;)

Stealing will be considered a virtue in this case. ;)
