6) The density of ice is 1.00 g cm–3.

What is the volume of steam produced when 1.00 cm3 of ice is heated to 323 °C (596 K) at a
pressure of one atmosphere (101 kPa)?

[1 mol of a gas occupies 24.0 dm3 at 25 °C (298 K) and one atmosphere.]

A 0.267 dm3
B 1.33 dm3
C 2.67 dm3
D 48.0 dm3

PV=nRT

1atm=101kPa

1 moles of water=18g
1g=1/18moles

T= 596K

R=8.31

101000XV=1/18 X 8.31 X 596
           V=275.153333/ 101000
           V=0.00272429043 m3

1m3=1000dm3
 0.00272429043 m3= 0.00272429043 X 1000= 2.7 dm3 approx

hey,
cud u xplain QUE.26 of may08 .........

If the count of Oxygen increases by 2. Then both OH groups have been oxidised further to COOH. If the OH groups have to be oxidised they have to be primary alcohols. Hence they must be attached to carbon 1 and 4. C

Hope this is clear.

sorry it's the terminating step of propane

so the end product will be C3H7 radicals reacting with each other to produce C6H14

count the number of Carbon atoms in 1,2 and 3
Only 1 and 2 have 6 carbons. So it's B
