It might be anyone master786, we don't have to blame anyone now. That was a loss, it is someone from the moderators or adminstrators who removed it completely, the number of posts of the forum now decreased for over 7000 posts. The one who did that has to know that he/she doesn't love the forum and doesn't want the best for it.

Yes that is right Sweetsh.

Its Sad that there are Mod/Admins who would be like that.

We can exclude godfather93, Q80BOY, sanity_master and saifalan, because they didn't access the forum since days because of personal reasons.

(That doesn't mean we're blaming anyone) The thread is gone and we can do nothing about it now, unfortunately.)

Yes.

if we can get the timings of when was the thread deleted and who from Mods/admins were online at that time, we could now.

But yes again, we cant get it back.Which is really sad. Becuz the Family thread was the top 1 in the number of posts.

We have problems on the forum. They are small problems. Look at https://studentforums.biz though, 3rd in google for "student forum". Their website is down because of database errors.

Not one that I can find. Anyway I don't like the idea of a witchhunt. Freedom and privelege also mean there will be some mistakes. You take it all in the round. I think overall the forum is as well managed as it can be, and I still think there is a good chance the topic can be restored.

i dont want it to be a witch hunt either, but its possible that whoever deleted it might not even be aware that it was done with his/her account. It's possible that his/her account was hacked and the hacker did it. So its important to know who did it. Im sure there shud be a log system as there is for both vB n phpBB

I spent an hour after sweetsh told me about this problem yesterday, but I couldn't find anything about the thread, simply error logs telling me that the thread had disappeared.

To me, this means that the thread wasn't deleted by Mods or Admins. At least I hope this is the case. I tried to find a way of replacing the thread but it was to no avail and I'm glad that astar has managed to get backups to reinstate the thread.

I have just changed the forum settings so thaat moderater actions are being logged. The database is also automatically backed up every day now.

Title: Re: Who deleted the family topic?

Mods and admins. If anyone feels uncomfortable with being watched, we can disable it. It is just a tick in a box.

I havent given up yet trying to resore it. I was just  relying on the programmer. Now it is difficult to resore any database that is not backed up on the network because they are just too large. We must think further about how to go about this.

Yes I agree we should give up!
well I hope the person who deleted comes in to limelight
However we can still do efforts to restore it
