Yer I am taking it - which board are you doing it with? I am doing it with Edxcell.
What book/play you studying?
I would re read your play, look on the internet for info about it...
If you took classes and kept a log book read through that.
Look on the Edexcell website for past papers.
And good luck!
Hope I helped! ;D

Drama is so hard...Its not like 'Oh its just a drama exam, just acting'. Its not half of your marks comes from a performance and half from essays..
Its not easy!
Good luck!

I'm taking CIE Drama too. I reckon if you just read 'The Memorandum' and then pray like hell that we get easy questions, it should be fine. In the exam, pretend to yourself that you're in the audience of the play, and think about what you'd LIKE to see happening, to create the most drama. Then just make up a load of crap about that and you'll be plain sailing (: That's what I do anyway...
And when you're describing things, remember to include these points:
1. Lighting
2. Sound effects
3. Spatiality
4. Pace
5. Volume
6. Setting & backdrop
7. Props & furniture
8. Mood
9. Type of stage
10. Any kind of effects eg. alienation, kafkaesque, pinteresque, existentialism, absurdity, menace etc. etc.
I hope I've helped you. That might have been really tedious to read... Sorry haha.
And yea, Drama's hard. That's why I'll be happy with just a pass.

Heyy can u explain because the only effects i kno are split stage, freeze, thought tracking.
And yes im doing the ' The Memorandum ' .. what do we do for the 25 mark essays lol!
And Why the hell is Gross (managing director) holding a fire extinguisher in the last screnes?
And any notes u could share..?
Thanks Alot guys hope we all do well :) ...

Alienation is when you remove the audience from the scene that's happening, like, when you use documentary drama ie. you play a video in the middle of your scene in order to show some sort of weird effect that I'm not sure of. Existentialism is the feeling that nothing exists except from fear and pain. Kafkaesque(ism?) is basically putting a person into an impersonal situation, creating confusion, making them feel isolated eg. the very first part of the Memorandum where Gross is reading the Ptydepe memo. You also need to talk about the stuff you mentioned, like tableaus and thought tracking.
The 25 mark essays: I really have no idea whatsoever of what we have to do. I think I might get like, 3 marks in total hahah.
I think the fire extinguisher is meant to symbolise Gross 'losing his mind' to a certain extent. It's as if he's using it to comfort him because he feels so isolated and confused. It could also be a symbol that he's desperately holding on to what's left of his job, or maybe, on a more literal level, it's protection from him being fired. But I'm really really not sure because we only did scenes 1 & 2 in class - I've had to analyse the rest by myself. So don't take my word for it!
Hope you guys do great (:
