« on: August 18, 2010, 03:06:19 pm »
Hi so,
My school gave this bunch of past papers and some stuff for First Language English and there happens to be examples for a few of the papers, which looks like it was from the cie site.
does anyone have it for all the years ?
I really need to read examples to do good in my exams in Oct/Nov .

i'm looking for examples for the questions in the exams that real examiners had written. They arrange it in A, B, C and other grades.

Uh, well I don't have it like that.
It's in hard copy form and all I can do is take a pic and upload.

I don't think you actually need a study guide. English, unlike other subjects is not something you can study hard for. Its something you get from reading alot, writing alot and speaking in good english.

But you also need to know how the examiner will mark your paper and what exactly they are looking for.

However, like you said, to do well in English you need be exposed to a lot of good literature.

Well, Ari, that can be accomplished by reading the marking schemes online. Its quite broadly defined so its not something strictly set in stone.

Yeah, true, but it gives you a general idea. You can work out how to conform to the set standard.

You know for the language analysis part ? Open up the Examiner's Report, they ALWAYS give examples of the best answers to that question.
