Biology paper 6 :P
« on: April 27, 2009, 07:46:17 am »
Hey
I have a problem in paper6 bio regrading measurements.
I'll be more specific It's paper6-Oct/Nov 2004 question1
I dont know how to do this question cuz i tried all the ways and i get a different answer than that in the marking scheme.(It's not even within the specified range  ;D)
I would like to know how do we measure the length (from which point to which point)...
Thanks in advance  :P
If i fall along the way pick me up and dust me off...and if i get too tired to make it..be my breath so i can walk!!

lucky u....i solved it yesterday....well the way to do it is to measure the length of the worm at each part where the line is almost straight.....i mean at each curve in the body starts a new line.....i did it and the answer for

*worm A =~ 1.03 mm (that was mine)
*mag was=~ X196.5 (that was according to my measurements)  ;D

i hope u got wt i meant up there :)

well emi.......after all its just an approximate,,,,,have u seen the range of error (its freaky) cuz of the problems and the different ways of measuring......in that curve i just tried to split it into different parts (no need to be straight) and i got and answer within the range :D

the 0.1mm and the 2cm part......they are scales and there are many ways to use them
wt i did was measuring the 0.1mm with my ruler and it was 1.5 cm......then i did the cross multiplication method and it worked

0.1mm -> 1.5cm
X      -> 15.5cm(the total length  of the worm)

the answer was 1.033 (within the range).......ohhh By the way,, the range i mentioned above is the range of the final answer of the (hw many times larger)

and to do part (ii)....measure worm B and convert it to !!(mm)!! and then
WORM B  == X (range 160 to 200)
WORM A

^^^^see :D
