« on: May 19, 2010, 10:31:40 am »
hi statistics exam is really close.... lets start discussing now so we could get an earlier discussion...
1st
which topic are you weak on?
i get tricked on those permutation and combination....
its easy to say that P is when order matters.. but C is when order does not matter.........
so lets start discussing!

corrext me if im wrong but , i assume that you use permutation when you can have the reverse of an arrangement so picking 123 is 1 possibility and 321 is another. and cobination is when you cant in which 123 and 321 is the same

k wt abt 'how many ways to arrange if x objects not together"

There are two ways to solve this
First find total number of different ways the x objects can be found

th*n find the number of ways they are together.
You find the answer and minus it with the above part i wrote.

Or
Just Assume they are not together and find the permutation/combination of the x objects
