Whatever the reason may be.....usually for not being paid well...putting someone's life at stake is inhumane and not tolerable. Under any circumstances, we, civilians, look up to them, seek their help, and show them respect, which would soon vanish if they do something ridiculous like going for a strike. Negotiations can be more constructive if other ways of expressing disappointment are opted for...

i think they have no right to strike , because once u sign up for a job there is an agreement between the employer and the employee
that includes everything concerning the job , like salary ,........etc

so if the employees  strike , then they would have broke the agreement
so they will get fired immediately

In most constitutions strikes are considered as a potent way to start negotiations...strikes are known as peaceful demonstrations.....I agree it's way better than violence but in this profession, dedicating time to your patients should be more important than money and others

Because you have some problem with your boss, you are not earning well, they are not paying, does not means you take a life of someone else. That "someone" is surely an important part if his/her family. we look to them and we trust the staff and the doctors cos at that time we are totally helpless!

I was in the habit, when I went to job interviews of offending my interviewer if I didn;t want the job.
A couple of times I was 'escorted from the building'.

Anyone who cant work with someone has be the top person or work on their own. Surprisingly many success start that way, with people doing something awful when they get the sack to make sure they will never get a good reference. Then they have to go it alone.

No no......People have the rights to strike in fact......but what I'm saying is it is unethical in a profession where you decide people's fate.....it's a matter of life and death.

And to not digress from the topic, I'm laying special emphasis on this kind of profession.....
other workers may not do that much harm by going on a strike, yes there will be loss in terms of production,etc..

Medicine is different from other professions, in that the lives of other people are directly in your hands. If someone cares so much about their paycheck that they would leave someone to die a preventable death, then medicine is not the profession for them (I wonder what would be?). The most important contract for a doctor should not be the one with his boss or the hospital, but the unspoken bond of trust that exists between him and his patients. It should be a criminal offense for doctors and nurses to abandon their charges and go on strike.
