Why So Early
« on: January 15, 2010, 04:35:31 pm »
I'm in A1 n I can notice that my classmates have already started learning for SATS! I thought you get your A level results then you apply for universities. Why are they in such a hurry to apply for a university?? Will there be any future problem (like getting too late) if I give SAT after completing A levels?

Please help me here as I don't want to study for both A levels and SAT at the same time :(

A1 = AS? first year of A-levels? ill assume that.

you can do the SAT whenever you want to... most people would do it before completing A-levels...

also, most universities will require you to submit your SAT score officially, ie, choose to do so on the collegeboard website... and you can do it whenever you want, preferably as soon as possible...

also... the SAT is real easy... the preparation is just doing a LOT of vocab. i mean A LOT. like about 3k words... its good to start as soon as possible. do 10 words a day or something.. wish i had done that...  :(

yes, A1 = AS

How hard is the Mathematics part of SAT? As far as I know u need to practise maths from about 6 syllabuses.

SAT maths is super easy.  ;D
its the english you've got to ph33r  :-\

and no, you dont need to study stuff "from 6 syllabuses" >.< (By the way, syllabi, not syllabuses)
its just algebra 1 (v basic algebra) and geometry (simple geometry).

i did IGCSE maths, and got an A*. when i did the PSAT, i had a predicted score of 780/800 in my SAT. i had made one mistake. checked what it was, and apparently, i filled in the wrong answer >.<
