into university
It depends on what you want to study and where you want to study.
For example if you live in China and want to go to study medicine at Harvard you will need to go through an international examination course, for example the IB, and get a high performance, please remember that in high ranked uni's the exams you need to do must be related to the subject you want to study in the uni.
However if you want to study in you country you will have to have a good school performance, without any need of an international examination (even though it helps)
