2ND MATHS PROBLEM.....
« on: November 03, 2009, 05:50:35 pm »
(a) because,
26x93=62x39
36x42=63x24
thus, find another pair of multiplication with the same properties.

for the rest of the question, pq, rs, qp and sr represent a 2 digit number

(b) in (a), pq times rs = qp times sr
state a relationship between p, q, r and s
(c) 26 can be written as (10x2 +6)
pq can be written as (10p +q)
therefore the multiplication of pq and rs can be written as (10p +q)(10r +s)
use this idea to prove ur statement in (c)

the orignal question can be found on:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/3182857/19982003-Paper-4-Maths
page 33
