CIE Maths VS Edexcel Maths
« on: June 23, 2009, 10:42:28 am »
Hey guys, Im a total noob to this A levels stuff but I've planned on self studying for the exams for all the subjects except for maths which I'll actually take in school. Could any of you guys info me about the difference between the math offered by CIE and the math offered by Edexcel?

Our school just recently decided to make our lives "easier" by giving us options. Problem is I've asked my seniors who take Edexcel and they're giving me mixed comments about the whole thing. At first word went around that it was an easier course all round and that if you needed to resit you only needed to resit one compenent. But then again I heard those taking CIE saying that CIE is the easier and better course. Im freaking confused here.. Our school Offers CIE + Stats for AS. While Edexcel is coupled with Mechanics..

Any insight on this will be a total huge and big help. Thanks in advance!

Believe me edexcel is easier overall but the better a level is cie. A lot depends on whether you prefer mechanics or stats.
