List of Literature terms.

Heres a basic list of some of the terms used in poetry, and probably the only ones u need to know :P..

collate - compare
personification - giving something of human qualities to non-living objects
onomatopoeia - sounds like what it is (Boom, Rawr!)
enjambement - run-on lines
alliteration - string of words beginign with same letter
pathetic fallacy - giving objects human feelings
pleonism - e.g. tiny little ant (redundant words)
ambigious - two possible meanings of a word
metaphor - compares two subjects without using 'like or 'as'
simile - using "as" or "like"
consanance - repitition of letters that are not vowels, in short intervals
assonance, same as above with vowely bits
dental - words beginign D
fricative - f
labial - l
sibilance - s
Rhythm - The ‘movement’ of the poem

Think thats all, if i forget any, or something is wrong, just post em here and ill change them  ;D

Tips:

1) Make a list of the key themes that feature in each poem. Note any similarities or
contrasts, reread it 10000x times

2) Re-read your glossary of critical terms and ensure that you know the meaning of
key devices. Particularly important are: ASSONANCE, ALLITERATION, ONOMATOPOEIA, CAESURA, ENJAMBEMENT, SIBILANCE, FREE VERSE.

3) Start writting notes on the paper, but be aware of the time.

4) After u think u have enough notes, start cracking ;)
