When it is covered by a damp cloth, Water gains K.E and so can over come the forces of attraction, causing it to evaporate, and evaporation has a cooling effect (You Should Know This) thus keeping the Milk inside cool for a further period of time :)

Hope It Helps, If It Does, Don't Forget +REP ;)

hey guys i wrote that the milk molecules cant evaporate as damp cloth is there and that the milk will transfer its heat energy to water and water evaporates instead of milk and thus milk stays cool.is this right?

I got it wrong. I wrote that water evaporates from the dish. lol. I thought the cloth was to stop the milk from evaporating.
Will I get ANY marks for that??
