Ok well, the blood that enters the kidney goes through the artery, which then passes into those tiny nephrons. In the nephron the blood has high concentrations of urea, water, glucose, oxygen. This passes into the glomeroulous and under high pressure passes through to the bowmans capsule. It then passes through to the first coiled tubule where ultra filtration takes place of some glucose and oxygen. It then passes down to the loop of henle where water is absorbed. Then it passes into the second coiled tubule where the final absorbtion of glucose takes place. This glucose absorbed in the first and second coiled tubule then pass into the blood stream through the renal vein. And finally, urea passes into the collecting duct and through to the ureter.
I hope that helped. It seams pretty complicated ;p

I think what Natalie is trying to explain..is that..the reason glucose travels through the arterys and veins..is because glucose travels in the blood..to the kidney via the artery.. the blood is then purified in the kidney, but glucose also travels out of the vein..the renal vein. U get me?
