Hey! Can some one explain May/June 2004 Q29 and Q30?

Which shows the sex chromosomes in the body cells and in the sex cells in a man?
  body cells  sex cells
A XX            all X
B XX            all XX
C XY            X or Y
D XY            all XY

30 In humans, which types of variation are shown by blood group and height?
   blood group    height
A continuous continuous
B continuous discontinuous
C discontinuous continuous
D discontinuous discontinuous

The answer for both is C.

no prob aquarian..

and examsaresoon..
for the first one..since its a male..all body cells have ofcourse XY...but for the sperms..50% have X, and 50% have Y..that is why there is a 50% chances at fertilization that its a boy or girl..
for the second..discontinous, is when there are distinct forms with no intermediates..and no environmental influence...continuous is when there are many forms with genetic and environmental influence..blood group can either be A, B, O or AB so discontinuous...and height can be literally anything...and is affected by parents height, and what we eat...so continuous...hope it helps..

cud sum1 explain  the nitrifying denitrifying nitrogen fixing bacteria?
wat does the nucleus in every body cell of a male contain?
X allele
y allele
y chromosome
y gene
After all is said and done, more is said than done.

By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong.

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Nitrifying bacteria converts the nitrogen in the air (in the soil) in to nitrate ions which is a source of protiens for plants.
Denitrifying bacteria converts these nitrate ions back into nitrogen and releases it in the air.

Y allele
