entire A level > seperate segments

People a couple of my friends told me that those giving entire A level subjects like physics and maths are likely to benifit grade differences then those giving AS and A2 seperately.

I'am giving A level physics whole. My paper 2 and 3 went excellent. Paper 5 went not so well and paper 4 felt like getting shot with an unseen harpoon gun. If it matters that I do P1 physics well, would The AS segment make up for the A2 giving that I'am appearing for entire A level physics.

why would you want to know anything about P31?

Hi. I was wondering if you need to show your AS (Advanced Subsidiary) statement of result when applying to a US university or is the certificate just enough?
