I didn't see what BBC said, but surely Stanford should be on that list?

Maybe the BBC is being quirky. I am surprised to see UCL so high.

Thats encouraging...

I got an offer from Imperial for 39 IB points, but UCLA and Berkeley rejected me (all for Com. Sci.). Bastards. I can now laugh in their faces!

I think it depends on whether you want research or practice. InEngland the best research University is Oxford, but I think the best teaching University is UCL. I think it also depends on whether you want to specialise in something after you graduate and whether you intend to work as a surgeon at some point.

Are you thinking of medicine? I know a Doctor on the Interviewing panel at Kings College LOndon. I thought of asking him to write some nots on interviewing and hints. He asked me to build him a website.

I think Manchester is very good for medicine if I remember correctly.

However, from what I've heard from people applying to Unis for Medicine, the courses are very different - you have to decide how much patient contact you want to have etc. I remember someone saying something about a university where you have massive amount of patient contact and have to essentially teach youself.

You can never judge universities by rankings. However, did BBC journalists even study in those universities to gain the experience???
