hey guys any advices for the paper

i think most important and every year's bit is motors and electricity.. so be well in tht and its rest mostly calculations.. so equations.. jst look over them.. if u need they r all here >> https://studentforums.biz/index.php/topic,2342.0.html

thts it really. GUD LUCK :)

NOVEMBER 1993 PAPER1 Q19 .
I HAVE A DOUBT.
AS PER ME THE ANSWER SHOULD BE DIAGRAM C BUT IN MARK SCHEME IT IS DIAGRAM"D' .ABOUT DIFFRACTION OF WATER WAVES IN A WIDE GAP.

CAN U HELP AND TELL ME WHICH IS THE CORRECT ANSWER?

ok for
Q 3 constant speed means same speed so a straight line that is parallel to the x axis which should be C

Q 4 acceleration can be found by the equation of V-U so here the V which is the final velocity is 150 and U the initial velocity is 50 so acceleration is 100

question 6 bathroom scales and force meter and top-pan balance all depend on the force of gravity but for beam balance the unknown mass in one pan is balanced against known masses in the other pan

Q7 easy the beaker mass is 100 g and the beaker+water is 140 g so the mass of the water is 140-100 and apply the equation mass=density*volume to get the density

Q 9 take this rule in mind whenever the effort or force or weight is away from the pivot it means it is less than the other force on the other pivot therefore less effort in the longest and furtherst from the pivot which is at D

Q 11 they use the concept of pressure in liquids to convert it into electrical energy so they choose D because the more the depth of liquid the more the pressure that water flows faster and thus the turbine rotates faster giving more output so at D it is at more depths than A and B and water level is less so greater tide but if it was at C the water level on the other side is more which doesn't generate more tide than D

Q 19 warm water is less dense so rises up and cold water is more dense and thus sinks which is true for convection in air hot air rises and cold air sinks

Q 24 sound doesn't travel in vaccum and thus window x is better at stopping sound because it has vaccum

Q 32 the live wire is directly taken from the station and is the one which supplys the lamp but the neutral wire is an extra wire which just is used to complete the circuit and also to give current to other equipment so putting a fuse over there won't help when the current is too high or to prevent electrical shock when the lamp is broken as the live is still on

Q 33
the cable becomes hot and melts because the lamp uses a wire that takes less current but when the same wire is used for the kettle it has more current thus more heat so it will become hot and melts

Q 37 the light dependent resistor depends on light the higher the light lower the resistance lower the light higher the resistance

Ans for 32 is B.

cuz the magnetic field lines have to be cut for a p.d to be induced.

How have the magnetic field lines been cut since we are not moving the magnet?

the bar is inside the solenoid..it was moved into the solenoid, causing the field line to be cut. the rest r not correct anyways. For A the magnet is a part of the whole connection(absolutely wrong) for C the magnet is outside the solenoid and being rotated(if it were inside then a pd would be induced as rotating outside does not cut the field line and for D the magnet is being taken away from the solenoid it needs to be taken into it so that field lines can be cut
