for sound waves , i think we have to draw normal waves with the crests labelled compression and troughs named rarefaction  :P

Then the y-axis will be 'air pressure' ?! Isn't it?
Because I thought we can draw many waves close together naming them a compression and many other quite apart and name them a rarefaction?

yeah, but the y-axis will be air pressure and labelled above normal, normal, and below normal. as high air pressure is caused by compression and low air pressure by rarefaction :D

The refractive index is  sin i/sin r if I am not mistaken, so why in the Oct/Nov 08 paper 3 mark scheme is the answer to question 6b) sin r /sin i? I can't seem to understand, even though the answer looks wrong...
If anyone could explain to me that would be really helpful!

see you always calculate sin i / sin r when a light ray passes from rarer medium to a denser medium. but at that instant, you  should calculate using sin r / sin i because it's the other way round..... the ray inside the denser medium is going to pass out to the rarer  medium.  :D

I really am freaking out right now..
I have done very few past papers...and i did fine. I mean i got an A on the mock- good enough!
I just did the latest exam... Nov 2008.
IT WAS SO HARD! AND JUST LIKE CHEM IM SCARED ITS GUNNA BE THE SAME!!!!!!! Seriously, what do you guys tihnk..and am I the only one that thinks this paper is hard??

this is the answer to the question 3 of '03 may june

just use a compass and protractor. draw the big base using a scale of 1:100 and then use your compass.  ;) ;)

hey there goin4dakill!! you'll be fine because:
1) if you know how to answer - you can score
2) you said you got an A in the hard mock - no need for panic
3) the threshold is low for p3 , usually being 55%  ;D
