Usually I remember at least 2 case studies from the major topics such as tectonics, population or settlement. Along with that I usually memorise 3 other case studies with a smaller topic which i'm comfortable with. You will only need about half of them as you only answer 3 questions.

I dont know which to do in detail

Im definitely doing an earthquake one, volcano, tourism, settlements, n migration...i have the others written down on a paper, but i dunno if i should learn them in detail - like flooding, river basins, urban sprawl, industry, deserts..

any more suggestions on which you are doing?

its best to learn like a full chapter : population, environment, resources, than learn different topics from each!
i hate environment, so im not going to do that. just population (thats 2 qs) and i will choose another qs from resources chapter, like tourism, agriculture, industry, NICs, watever comes up.because thy dont all come up.and also remember if ur doing paper 4, then u need to know EVERYTHING because you dont know which topic is coming up!

yah u can make stuff up! but choose a random country the examiners would least likely know about eg :North Korea, Myanmar, Somalia,... so dont choose UK or like Spain, because they would know about that :)

i hav the following case studies:

Population control - France + China
Squatter Settlements - Sao Paulo
AIDS - Botswana
Earthquakes - Afghanistan + Japan
Volcanoes - Indonesia + USA
Flooding - Bangladesh + UK
Headlands - UK Holderness Coastline
Forests - Amazon rainforest
Farming - Bangladesh + UK
Industry - Toyota in UK and M4 Corridor
Tourism - Spain and Egypt  8)
Resources - Aswan Dam  8)

if anyone needs information on one of these case studies, i dont mind giving information, but just be patient ! :)

It's always the best to use local examples, at least you know the things well, and if u live in some wicked place there is a high chance they wouldnt even bother checking if what you're writing is actually true  :P

i use geography complete revision and practice guide thing,(by CGP) and wider world geography for ks4, its a blue book and they have really good case studies
Here I stand and I laugh when I see the world you're in.

the m4 corridor is situated in the UK. This is the place where all the high tech and footloose industries have developed. many universities are located in the area to provide these high tech industries with the skilled workforce they need. the m4 corridor is close to the motorway 4!!

yee lol thats a country :D see if u don't know about it, they wont i guess. you can use your own country as well.

population control in France was introduced after WW1 to try to increase the population.  France feared a lot of its men dying in the war and low birth rates would make it poorer and have less workers in the future. They banned all forms of contraception.
they provided
- full pay to mothers on maternity leave
- longer maternity leave (6 months)
- more creches and nursuries built
- payment to couples with more than 3 children
- cheaper transportation to couples with 3 children

nonetheless, it was a failed policy, France's fertility rate over the years has declined.

its good to know it because it might ask you to refer to EXAMPLES which you have studied, meaning more than one!

**********************

M4 corridor is a strip of high tech industries located to the west of London, around Bristol. Advantages:
- Heathrow Airport nearby and near both M4 and M5 = accessible, exporting and importing raw materials
- Near universities especially in Cambridge = skilled workforce available and research centres
- Exmoor and other national parks near by = attractive landscape and view ( a need for high tech industries )
- Industries locating next to each other = share resources and information
