Not sure
« on: June 02, 2011, 06:14:02 pm »
im not sure if this is an A lvl question, since im doing univ math. and we have to use derivatives in order to find marginal cost function and revenue function where x is the demand. and price is the function of x.

R(x)= x(p(x))
P(x)=R(x)-C(x)

can anyone plaz help me solve this.
A fast food restaurant can produce an order of fries for $0.40. If the restaurant's daily sales are increasing at the rate of 15 per day, how fast is its daily cost of fries increasing.
what i've got so far is

x=fries sold per day
p=0.4
R(x)=0.40x

i am not sure whether R'(x)=15, nor do i know how to find the cost.
