Firstly, thanks for your help :D
I have a question regarding this.
Why will the drag be upwards? Shouldn't it oppose the motion of the balloon and be downwards?

My Bad  :-X , It'll Oppose the motion and hence Arrow Downwards =]

8. 5cos55 - F = 0

It is equal to zero since there is no acceleration.

Solving for F gives 2.87N
Thank you :D

9. (a) this question deals wit projectile motion.

The range of a projectil is equal to horizontal velocity * time taken

Using s = ut + 0.5at^2

15=0.5*9.8*t^2

Solving for t we get 1.75s

Using above equation : 12 * 1.75 = 21m

(b) the following answer may or may not be right. If you have the actual answer please tell me if I'm right.

Considering the horizontal and vertical components of motion we form a right angle triangle with the hypotenuse equal to the resultant velocity.

Hence, 12^2 +18.62^2 = 490.7

Thus, resultant velocity is 22.2 ms^-1

I'm Sure ..Cuz the Drag/Air resistance ALWAYS Opposes the Motion of the object. and hence In this Case ; Since It goes Upwards the Air Resistance is Downwards ;)

I get it :)
So. . . Weight and drag will act downwards will Upthrust will act upwards. Right?

10. Range = horizontal velocity * time

0.8 = 1.5 t

T= 8/15

S=0.5*9.8*(8/15)^2

S= 1.39 metres

11. I won't do this one because it's too simple. Just think about it or find the formula on the net.

12. USe pressure = force/area

10000000/(2.2*10^-4) = 4.55*10^6

I know we have to use pi * r^2 * h

but my answer was different from the mark scheme answer.
just temme what u get here?

Nope. There isn't one.
First exam for physics [new syllabus] was Jan 2009.
