But regardless, the American Universities are far more supportive financially. They also have far more funding than UK bodies, so they are better equipped. I know that Cambridge and Oxford are the best UK has to offer, but the Universities in America will offer better financial assistance as well as education.

Hey i agree tht they will help more financially but dont u think cambridge edu. ROCKS!!!!! Ok so i have been dreaming of going to Cambridge since i was like 10 YEARS old!!! I just love it i dont know why....

Lol some of the 'suggestions' put forward here are so ignorant I just had to write something. To make a competitive application, you should aim to get at least 5 APs in relevant subjects with 5s. Cambridge couldn't care less about extra curricular if they are not relevant to your academic subject. There are also 'admission' tests, like TSA etc, that would depend on the subject you want to study in. If you have any queries send me an email and I'll try my best to help. And just looking through their website will help heaps. And American universities, aren't at par with Cambridge, unless you are talking about Harvard and the likes. And Cambridge tuition fees are nowhere near the tuition fees at the American unis. Being an international student, it would cost me over US$200,000 for me to get an UCLA education, whereas I'd get a far better education at Cambridge/Oxford/UCL/LSE for about US$80,000.

And if it makes any difference, Cambridge was ranked as the number 1 university in the world this year.

Very ignorant and misleading post.

Tution fees of ANY UK institution (8000-13000 pounds/yr) are less compared to any top American institution ($50000/yr). These figures exclude living expenses

Speaking of scholarships, it is very difficult to prove that you are 'need based',in case of top American universities.

Got it?
