Thresholds are different for every sessions. Mark's boundary for achieving an A is decided by looking at the ease of paper. Sometimes they are high and sometimes low. There are other factors as well which the examiners look at to grade candidates.

Continuous efforts matter more than the outcome.

The Grade thresholds are made so that a normal distribution of grades are achieved by the students.

.... people fail.....so...
Ya Allah! Make useful for me what You taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me.

CIE has to make sure that @ least 10% of all the students sitting for a particular exam attains an A*. Hence it will adjust the threshold in that optic.

Secondly, less students sit for June than for November. So the threshold is more likely to decrease for June than it is for November.

Why rush ? Just take a staged assessment that way you can repeat in november if you mess up in june.

In either case you finish your A Levels at the same time.

You have to give both AS/A2 compulsorily whenever you give it ! You don't know how papers are going to be made, so why to bother about sessions. You can also Give AS/A2 together, if you want like some of our members are giving, BUT you have to give AS and A2 both.

You can give early or late, but, make sure you are well prepared.  ;)
You can give :

AS - November 2011; and
A2 - June 2012

SUITABLE. :D

Hmm.............that depends how you've prepared yourself.

I am currently doing my A-level right now without appearing for AS before. It's not that hard, but perhaps it might be a bit bulky if you're not well prepared.

So I'll advice to sit for your AS in June 2011 so that you get the chance to repeat in November(if necessary) like Ari suggested. Then leave A2 for the following year.

Nevertheless, if you're having one in June, it's better to have the other one in June as well. You'll get a whole year to get yourself ready.
