Do you really think that capital punishment gets you anywhere in life ? It may drive home a point, but what happens IF you find out the said assailant was wrongly accused ?

What you gonna do then ? Say sorry to his dead corpse ?

That's what I listened !

Assailant will never be wrongly accused after the whole case has dropped to a part.

Continuous efforts matter more than the outcome.

I'll be to the point.
The Taliban have no Geneva Convention to follow. They have no rules and no laws. If they catch an American soldier they kill him on the spot even if he surrenders.

How do you fight something like that ? Do not be naiive and think that America cant simply unload a bunch of cluster bombs (banned by a UN treaty to which the USA is a signatory) or send in a few 'bunker-busters' in areas where Taliban elements are located.

American could do something like that but unlike the Taliban they follow the conventions of warfare.

Strength in terms of arms and weaponry is not the problem. America faces an adversary that can act truly uncivilized.

Peace loving ? Negotiations ? NATO recently offered to negotiate with the Taliban in Pakisatan or did you not read that in the news ?

They even offered them safe passage to Islamabad - the Taliban ignored the plea.

As I have shown quite clearly your points are baseless.

Ari, stop that please... Don't wanna end up with what we finished ago.

I'm not here to prove your points are baseless or anybody else's.  I just hope we were having a peaceful debate here and not anything emotional/personal. This statement of yours, in bold, indicates that you were offended by my response.

If that is so, I did not mean to offend you.

I'd prefer not arguing in this matter any further since arguments are baseless if any emotions are involved and can get into something more violent, like what happened with the US and Talibans. ;)

Peace. ;)

Dude, no man. I'm just having a constructive debate, I in no way felt offended by you.

Instead I should be apologising... I got a bit carried away. Ah, damn, Alpha..... yeah, I know you told me once already. I'll stop now.

Its okay mate! I'm sorry if any of my words hurt you too. :)

If you are thinking by now, that I support the Talibans, then that is not the case. I do not and did not ever support them or any other militant organisation.

My points made in previous posts, did not imply that I am supporting the Talibans. More like "Why are they not eliminated as of yet, after the decade long war?". Wondered if its another vietnam case.

Okay, I had previously stopped all discussions on countries. Let's not bring it up again.

Instead, think of a way to severely punish offenders. Prison, and hell, are common. ;)

For rap*: Compulsive slavery of the woman/girl the rapist rapes. For example, if someone rapes another girl, the punishment is that he should be her slave (with his hands tied :P ) for 3 years. ;D :P

Okay, more seriously, the most suitable sentence is that of prison.

LOL. :D :P Slavery has been universally abolished.

Prison? In countries like Mauritius, prisons are equivalent to hotels.  ::)

I would vote for "cutting".  ::)  :P

In healthy arguments, they can be used.  :)
In healthy arguments***.  :P

Why don't you join in? ;)

In my opinion, words like 'rape' and 'porn' are often used in healthy arguments and should not be censored. Only 'uncivilized' words, like Fu__, should be censored.

LOL.   Slavery has been universally abolished.

It can be restarted as a punishment for rapists.

Nice. Its popular to tourists after all. :P ;D

Ouch! :P

I'm considering something else.

According to islamic law, the punishment for rape is straight - death, if caught.

I've read on a website that on average, 30 women are raped in the US per minute.

I wonder if the problem of rape in the US would be to the same extent if the islamic law is implemented there, in case of rape.
