Women are not treated well in countries such as Afghanistan and the NATO forces as well as the United States of America are working towards their liberation.

Time will tell what will happen.

I'm not being impatient, but NATO has spent more than 10 years in Afghanistan, and no signs of female liberation or defeat of the Talibans as of yet. The NATO guys have clearly been unsuccessful in accomplishing their mission. (if what you said is their mission, after all)

Its not an eye for an eye case. In this case, its more like, a fingernail for an eye. ::)

They've been around for 7 years ;)

Girls can now go to school in peace in certain parts of the country and Kabul is relatively safe.

I consider that a victory for my female brethren.

Okay, so, what do you think is the best punishment for women's rights offenders?

Okay 7 years. But they're on war for more than 10 years.

"Certain" parts of Afghanistan? I especially note the "relatively" word. No sarcasm. ;)

One of my dad's acquaintance works on the United Nations, Kabul. According to her, the Talibans still dominate the majority of Afghan. Only a few of the major cities are under US control. About safety, UN officials like her is not allowed to go outside a certain territory unless special circumstances. And she's in Kabul. Yes, "relatively" safe!

More than 10 years of war, and still not dominated the whole of Afghanistan yet? Isn't the US the most powerful country in the world? Peace loving? Peace lovers try to solve through negotiation, not war.

Or should I say the Talibans are more powerful than the US! So powerful, that even after 10 years of "war" with the most "powerful" country, they are not yet defeated!

I'm not being sarcastic. But illustrating how the NATO has failed in Afghanistan. That is it. ;)

Okay, I had previously stopped all discussions on countries. Let's not bring it up again.

Instead, think of a way to severely punish offenders. Prison, and hell, are common. ;)

I'll be to the point.

The Taliban have no Geneva Convention to follow. They have no rules and no laws. If they catch an American soldier they kill him on the spot even if he surrenders.

How do you fight something like that ? Do not be naiive and think that America cant simply unload a bunch of cluster bombs (banned by a UN treaty to which the USA is a signatory) or send in a few 'bunker-busters' in areas where Taliban elements are located.

American could do something like that but unlike the Taliban they follow the conventions of warfare.

Strength in terms of arms and weaponry is not the problem. America faces an adversary that can act truly uncivilized.

Peace loving ? Negotiations ? NATO recently offered to negotiate with the Taliban in Pakisatan or did you not read that in the news ?

They even offered them safe passage to Islamabad - the Taliban ignored the plea.

As I have shown quite clearly your points are baseless.

Do you really think that capital punishment gets you anywhere in life ? It may drive home a point, but what happens IF you find out the said assailant was wrongly accused ?

What you gonna do then ? Say sorry to his dead corpse ?
