Answers from people who have an idea about both would be appreciated. How does the relative difficulties compare between the qualifications?

Worry not ;)

GCE- O Levels are a bit harder than IGCSEs.

However, they both prepare you pretty well for life.

GCSEs science papers are more like english comprehension. lol :D

CIE O-Levels > (Edexcel O-Levels = CIE IGCSE) > Edexcel GCSE in terms of difficulty

Of course, this is like a very general way of putting it. Many will argue :P But this is pretty much the crux of it.

Some subjects are harder in Edexcel 'O Level' than in CIE 'O Level'.

Overall, CIE 'O Level' is harder.

Take a look at a GCE-O Level physics altv. to practical paper and compare it to an IGCSE equivalent.

You'll see the difference ;)
