ICT isn't neccessary. But it helps to show your interest or enthusiasm for the subject in your personal statement. Sinve you want to get in software engineering, the BEST combo will be Maths, Further Maths, Physics and ICT. But remember, ICT is considered a 'soft' subject by oxbridge and the likes, so I'd take chemistry instead, plus it keeps options open. Don't take Business studies, imo.

instead of taking ICT...take computer science...the one from the CAMBRIDGE board that is

What do u mean by 'soft' and is is also the same for AICT?

Less respected, but only by the best universities in the UK. Donno bout AICT.

Monopoly:
But is AICT credited as much as phy, chem, eco, computer or other subjects.
