Should I take Computing (9691)?
« on: August 08, 2010, 06:40:54 pm »
Hello everyone!

I had some simple queries about Computing (9691):

Should I take Computing (9691) even if I am a Medical Student?

Is it tough or it just requires hard work?

Will it benefit me in the future while applying in the Universities?

Thanks for your precious time.

Computing is of little value and considerable amount of learning. It will not help you in medicine. However, it may offer little personal benefit.

The truth is, if you have picked up a career path, stick to it, because Universities want dedicated learners, who will be dedicated to the discipline they are going to study under.

So that means that by taking Computing (9691), I'll be simply overburdening myself. Is that right?

By the way, does it matter when talking about Scholarships?

Yes, simply over burdening.

Does what matter?

Usually when it comes to Scholarships, they want an excellent remark on your from a teacher/tutor.

If you demonstrate leadership skills, that is also treated with high esteem...

Taking extra subjects?

Yes it does. But if you are not seriously considering going towards the computer line, then it will not be a big boost.

Which subjects do you recommend then?

I am already taking following subjects:
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Math
Psychology (Still to be decided)

That is a very good choice, stick to that. Psychology is also really good, and enjoyable to study.
