English Language may seem easy, but it totally isnt! 4% of the candidates have an A, which is horribly low. I've done thinking skills last week, and i can tell you that although it isnt totally easy either, it is better than english language exam. At least an A grade is much common in thinking skills!

Hope I've helped  :)

Thanks for replying Pythagoras and ***exam***  :). U've definitely helped  :D

i don't know :-\, worried, im definitely going to have to take one of them and i definitely do aim for an A. It seems both of you recommend thinking skills. what sort of "studying" do you do for thinking skills? the standards booklet helps a lot in english, any such thing for thinking skills?notes, resources to help? thinking skills seems like a "clicking" subject, where u either get it or u don't, whereas EL is more of an open thing?write,write,write...lol

@ exam: isn't the highest an A grade in AS?

lol. here's the link to the CIE article. It's A* for the whole A-level, but only upto A for AS.

@ ***exam***
thinking skills looks very do-able for self study, i started working on it. specially helps cuz the marking schemes are detailed.
but im worried about english. i was wondering if i could do both. I've got the 2 textbooks, the cambridge endorsed one and "do brilliantly at AS english". im mainly worried about not having an experienced person to mark my papers as it's sooo open and mark schemes don't enable u to judge urself.u noe what i mean? and exactly howw many new hard words am i gonna have to learn?  :o thts another issue...lol ;D
will it require a lot of extra reading etc to improve? i got an A* at IG ESL, but then again tht was a piece of cake, lol.

ohk Thanks

hmm its far different from ESL igcse    yes u need a lot of reading for the 2nd paper especially . and but the 1st paper i think we all need guidance from expertise  but if u still want 2 do both  then i think u can opt 4 english language half credit it will be easier wish i could do that !!! :)   n ya u dont need to learn new hard words and stuff just use what ever u know    its ur knowledge about the topic  and correct grammar that counts and not some stupid greek words :P!!
