CIE THINKING SKILLS HELP (URGENT!)
« on: April 04, 2010, 12:30:47 pm »
Hello everyone... I'm deciding to give an AS-Level in CIE Thinking Skills and for that I just got my book endorsed by Cambridge titled "Thinking Skills" written by John Butterworth and Geoff Thwaites but this book was published back in 2005 where there only used to be an AS Level with two papers but effective of 2007 there is an A-Level option with 4 papers. My question is that if anyone is using this book, can you tell me which chapters are exactly needed to complete the AS-Level from this book now (i.e required for Papers 1 & 2) . It'll be very helpful of you all if you can tell me quickly cause I have a lot of other stuff to look into. Thank you.  :)

hey i did thinking skills from the same book you mentioned.
its an awesome book. if you follow the syllabus and the book contents closely you'll see they are almost the same.
the problem solving part of the syllabus is doable without the book but if you cannot solve the past papers do the section from the book and try their methods. the book is completely in line with the syllabus. if you want a good grade i recommend to follow the book closely, do each and every excersice at the end of topics and do all the past papers.
also time management is the biggest issue in the papers so do time your practice sessions

good luck
