firstly lemme clear u guys im not smart .. its jus tht i happen to answer a couple of questions here ..
(mostly phy/maths if u notice)
lemme tell u my story .. last year in the 9th grade i joined igcse .. initially our school only ran icse and they introduced IGCSE and IB together last year .. my dad was quite keen on sending me for it and i wanted to go abroad .. wat happened was we didnt hav trained staff fo teaching igcse so the best teachers from icse were 'trained' for a month and sent to teach us .. they hardly knew much about ig .. i hav to tell u i learned so much abt ig wen i joined SF !! prolly more than i eva knew .. lemme tell u wat happened subject by subject ..
for maths it was pretty much straight only thing is we didnt complete our portion as we had planned
english - was totally a waste! we learned nothin
physics is straight forward its more or less same around the world and theres not much theory in it too .. (thts y im good at phy =P)
subjects affected were bio and chemi .. its totally different in ig and we werent taught the way should have ..
french went excellent !! trained IB techer and a certified examiner .. we are quite lucky to hav her ..(n im good at it too and so do 5 otherppl inclass)
ICT was totally a waste .. no one took it seriously .. system analysis n expert systems and stuff wasnt even known properly 2 months ago
also last year we did ACCESS instructions in EXCEL .. beat that !!
this year too none of the (trained in ig) teachers helped much .. they assumed v kno everything and jus completed wat was left ..
so i wont be getting so many A*s
also i dont blame the teachers solely .. even we had a mind set tht ig was a walk in the park .. turned out to be more difficult than icse !!
