It didn't work for me for a while too... In the end, I went to my 'look and layout preferences' and under the quick reply bit, I changed it to 'show, off by default' and that seemed to fix it for me. Oh, and since this site uses BBcoding, you could just copy the text that you want to quote and use the [ quote]...[/quote] tags by placing the copied bit inside the tags as an alternative.
Hopefully, that should fix it
