Noo, I mean, in the hypothetical scenario that I could AND wanted to punish (eg. has harmed me in some way).

This is the most effective way. Experienced it myself. ::) ::)

In Islam it is considered as that. When you fight with a person..you let out all the bad things about Him just because you were once his/her friend knowing all their secrets. You use their weakness to take revenge and I must say not Islam or any religion believe that's the right thing to be done.

Punishing...means making someone realize their mistakes so that they get better or feel guilt for what they did but by such act they would only feel hate and would even get worse.

It was indeed a tragic experience. Grounded for several days, but learned a lesson, nevertheless. ;D

Ah, yes, punishing is to make someone realize their mistakes. I guess it would not be the right solution. Thanks for pointing it out. :)
