The question is so complicated because some fields are changing very fast, and so are their pay rates. Do you want something stable like civil engineering or at the cutting edge like space science/electronics?

Electrical engineering sounds like travel and there may be no demand for petroleum engineers soon.

wat about environmental engineering? with global warming and the enviroment becoming a major issue this days and with few graduates in the field, i think environmental engineers earn big bucks..

uhmm i was just gonna say... doctors earn a bit too. doctors, if they work hard, can earn much more than engineers. eg, doctors can set up practices easily, not easy for engineers to found companies, etc.
so yeah.

think about medicine too.
why dont i think about it?
because i want to use my brain in my job. being a doctor is usually quite monotonous. its why i probably will be a chemical engineer...
