IB Math HL Portfolio Type II
« on: June 06, 2009, 09:35:25 pm »
I just got assigned this portfolio paper a few days ago, and though I have a general idea of how/what to do, I have never written a portfolio paper or anything similar to it before. and my teacher failz at explaining exactly HOW a portfolio paper is written.

So, I'm new here, and I need help.

I found this link to the actual assignment for reference:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RS3CSFY7

my question is quite simply, how do you write a 7 portfolio paper? Also I have a few ideas on how to make my model but any suggestions would be nice (how do you make the separate functions in a piecewise stayed smoothly joined after they are integrated twice?)

overall, i need more help with how to write it rather than what to write.

Thanks in advance for you help  ;D

bump. any help at all?

for example, can i use a Gaussian function to depict the motion of an elevator? Or is sine/cosine the best option?

Because for Gaussian, how do i stop it at a certain point? (it goes to +- infinity, and the elevator needs to stop at 3 points).

Thanks anyway.
