The Good Luck That Follows Charity
« on: February 15, 2012, 09:57:42 am »
I heard this phrase today, and feeling in need of some good luck myself, I gave fifty pounds to Save the Children.
Then I got home and started waiting for someone to deliver my good luck.
I sat down and my jacket split right up the back.

Lol I don't think you ought to expect anything in return after doing something good.

No such thing as luck. Everything is predestined.

Screw this luck and karma business. I do nice things for the sake of doing nice things. Expecting a reward is not part of doing a good deed, it's part of being greedy.

If you have given even a penny to a charity, it won't get wasted. After all, it is a good deed and good deeds don't get wasted.

Your left hand shouldn't know what your right hand is giving-- that is called charity.

A lot of charity businesses are actually scams.
God knows how many emails I get from people asking for my money.
I'm thinking now that all charity is personal. If you see suffering up close, you give.
Unfortunately a lot of people over here are suffering cos they are addicted to drugs or alcohol or have spent all their moey on someting worthless before they lost their job (and their house).
