Is there anyone know are there any merchant banks in Canada? Who regulate them?

If you have found this information, can you pls include the link for me so that i can know it better. Urgent!!

I'm sure there are loads of merchant banks in Canada. Those are called "Investment Banks"

But the link that you gave me did not mention that the merchant banks are regulated by the federal government, OSFI.

Can you help me in economics? It is in the Alevel section under Commerce.

Canada’s chartered banks and their subsidiaries are the core of Canada’s financial system. They are the most important players in virtually every financial service market in Canada with the exceptions of insurance and car leasing where they face legislative restrictions. They have always been at the centre of deposit-taking and commercial lending activities.
