Dont worry it might be the paper will be clear in the exam. Usually they put a range for such answers so there's nothing to worry about

hey guyz...
im kinda new to this website....
i found it quite apealing so i thought of joining
anyways...
i wanted to ask about a question....
when they ask you in the paper that you have to make a "straight line graph" e.g question 4(a) oct/nov 2006, chemistry paper 6
do they mean a line of best fit or do they mean for you to join one point to the next?
Thanks i advaned...
THEIGBOY

By the way Thanks for the information sweetsh....
and all of you guyz plz check the syllabus and make sure u know everything there...

I can help in phy ppr6... There r ques regarding variables dat should kept be constant for improving da exp/precautions,
de r asked in every paper so in my knwledge these r da ways for diff topx:

Temp:
there r ques whch asks da ways to improve... These r da ways but be sure use dm acc to ques:
1.Vol/mass of water
2.Vol/mass of conditioner
3.Surface area
4.Amount of Stiring
5.Starting temp
6.Repeat
7.LID(usualy askd in rate of coolng n insulators)
8.Good conductor like metal
9.thickness of insulator
10.Same beaker
11.Amount of stirring

Rays:
1.repeat
2.greater pin spacing
3.paralax,action
4.lens,screen perpendicular to bench
5.metre rule on bench/clamped
6.use darkened area

Measurements:

precautions for Hooke's Law:
1.length of spring
2.range of loads
3.diameter of srings
4.no. of coils

for oscillation:
1.length
2.amplitude
3.size of bob
4.no. of swings

circumference formula: distance/wraped times

constant K can be founded by gradient of the graph

i cudnt find for circuits... I hope it helped... Plz pray 4 me!

thanx

i heard that there is a special way to find gradient of a graph
u have to draw the triangle, which should be atleast half the size
and u have to use some formula rise/run.

can anyone explain the proper method to find the gradient in physics paper 6

No prob....

Gradient is found by triangular method.
Take two readings frm graph dan r on the line(i usualy prefer first n last)
like supose first is
(2,4) n da 2nd is (2,8)
nw gve dm numbrs... I usualy gve 2nd quadrnts number 2... like (2,8) wud be (x2,y2)
n da first like (2,4) wud be (x1,y1)

nw use formula:

change in y/change in x
i.e: y2-y1/x2-x1

pt da values

8-4/2-2=4... Thus 4 is da gradient.
Dnt walk As iF u RulE da WorLd..... Walk As if U dOnT CarE wHO RuLzz It.......

YA I know it  our teaher gave it to us , its very easy when u plot a staright line graph not all the lines will be on it cause its an average value so the lines which best fit on the graph are the only ones that should be taken for the gradient reading pick 2 points that are on the line and using a straight triangle or a ruler make a traingle with em and find the gradient :)
