I couldn't find proper system specs...

Do you think that it'll work on the following system?

Core2Duo 2.5 Ghz

3GB RAM

Today is Monday. Why is India closed?

What's your budget for the laptop?

Oh, people are protesting against the increment in the transport tariffs etc.

Hmm.. I need to ask my dad :P But which company is preferable, if I want it for my school.

Okay...

Well I'll prefer Sony VAIO or hp Pavilion. Dell is cheaper but I don't like its build quality. Rest depends on your budget.

Sony is a bad choice unless you will be keeping it very well and will not be travelling with it much. It is a very fragile computer, that needs to be cared for with every sincerity.

And Dell in my belied, especially the high ended ones are only for Businessmen, you do not need these laptops, they are monstrous anyways.

Leaving you Hp Pavillion PCs, which are an excellent choice for students.

I am using Sony VAIO VPC-EB17FG... And I carry it around everywhere I go. Its a pretty rough tough machine + the build quality is awesome.

No.  :-\

If you drop a dell nothing happens. If you drop a Hp, you need to take it to the rapairs, if you drop a Vaio, you need to say "Sayonara"

I have used all three companies, and I am telling you from experience, if you buy a Vaio, you need to be VERY responsible.

Well it depends on the model you are using.

Oh, thank you for your replies :D

Well, Sony is fragile, all my teachers (in my old school) have sony and their laptops are in real bad shapes. However, as DrEvil said, depends entirely on the model. My teachers use a lower model but 2 of my friends are using  higher models which are in pretty good shape.
